Description

Some time in early December, I saw a little kid at a park on a seesaw, all alone, staring at the other side.  It made me feel pretty lonely, and inspired me to draw this.  Turned out the kid was just waiting for his friend to return.  So, on December 12th, 2010, I drew what I thought of the moment.

This is one of the rare redrawings I actually think was more effective in its original form. Yeah, this new one is better in a lot of ways—it's more detailed and sets a grimmer mood, which is cool—but the original was a lot messier and kind of childish, and I think it actually made it work effectively in its own way, because it looked more like what a child might draw. Both have merit, but I think I prefer the original by a bit because of how it speaks to me personally.

Good work on both! :D
